30 Day Challenge: Gratitude

30 Day Challenge: Gratitude

One of the things I hear over and over is that for a more satisfied life, one needs to make a gratitude list. I can always use more satisfaction in my life, and so for the new year I have decided to start with a gratitude.

Why Gratitude?

So much of what our culture is today is about “more”. More money, more time, more efficiency, more whatever. But yet there is little effort to recognize what already is.

Most people don’t take time to reflect on how truly blessed they are in their quest for more. Gratitude is an antidote for the grabbing of “more”.

Rules

This is a fairly simple challenge, with only two rules:

  1. One item per day. I must write down at least one item per day.
  2. No repeats. I repeat items on the list. I’ve been told this will make it more difficult as time goes by.

What I Hope To Gain

My thought is if I look at what I have, maybe the “more” won’t be so pressing. Rather, I will be satisfied with what I have and approach the quest for more with deliberation.
